So today it's thanksgiving and we've had such a blast!
Brad's dad and step mum travelled down from up north to spend the day with us, celebrating thanksgiving and an early christmas day (minus present opening.)
Lucas wore the cutest shirt, it wasn't very "thanksgivingy" (yes, i made that word up) but my friend bought it for him and I wanted it to feel really festive today, as we don't get to spend christmas day with Brad's dad.
We were watching ELF, obviously, when they turned up, and I was prepping Linner (yes, i made that word up too, its a mix of lunch and dinner.) I was peeling veg, cutting veg, boiling veg and placing marshmallows on the sweet potato mash i'd made earlier. Apparently it's a tradition in america. I didn't know how that was going to turn out, but we were extremely surprised... It's actually really nice, very sweet, so you only need a small amount.
Whilst we waited on dinner to cook, we put on Michael Buble's christmas deluxe album, I checked back on my roast potatoes constantly and Lucas played with Grandpops.
We had dinner and, if i do say so myself, it was AMAZING, we then watched "Jingle all the way," and then "ELF" AGAIN! As Deb had never seen it the whole way through... Terrible I know.
I am thankful for supportive friends and family, near and far. I am thankful for a lovely fiance and a beautiful little boy.
Don't take life for granted and be thankful for the ones who are always there for you.
So THANK YOU to those are truly amazing and have been there every step of the way for Brad, Lucas and myself this year, through the ups and the downs.
