OUR BEDTIME ROUTINE - AT 10 MONTHS OLD

Our bedtime routine at 10 months old… (and in the new house)First thing first, after dinner we have bathtime! We love the bedtime bath collection from Johnsons, and we use a spongebob squarepants sponge! With Lucas obviously just sucks water from!Lucas loves the bath, he loves splashing and wiggling his toes in the water. Then we move onto teeth, We use Peppa Pig toothpaste and i brush initially as Lucas now has 4 teeth, then we give him the rinsed brush and he sucks the brush and we show him how to brush them and he mimics.Once we’re out of the bath we use Johnsons Talc on his bits and bobs (which we haven’t photographed for obvious reasons) and then use mum & me sleep tight massage oil which smells incredible, and leaves him feeling silky soft.We have a little book corner in his room and Lucas crawls there and lays down, it’s so cute. We then get out the books off his bookshelf (We have hardback books downstairs and then really nice paper books upstairs, where the pages cant be ripped out.)  His book corner consists of a cute little playmat, woodland cuddly toys and woodland pillows, its so cosy and has little fox lantern lights hanging above for cuddle time during the night when Lucas gets distressed when he is teething or poorly. This weeks books are “The dinosaur that pooped the past” & “The dinosaur that pooped a planet” both by Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter and then “The smartest giant in town” a book that deardaisyelizabeth sent us through with the gorgeous playmat Lucas is sat on in his book corner. As you can see we read “The dinosaur that pooped the past” tonight and Lucas got very into it, especially when I yelled POO! haha. I think a bedtime book is lovely for bonding, that special 10 minutes where you cuddle in silence and read and watch them so interested in it. Lucas watches my mouth move when I read and thats adorable. Then finally bottle and bed! He hates to be fed, he loves holding it by himself and then he falls asleep. I think a bedtime routine is so important, we started a routine from very early on and now Lucas knows and expects it. He is such a good boy and he has started only waking up once a night so we’re enjoying this more sleep business.
