LUCAS' ONE MONTH UPDATE

Happy 1 month birthday baby boy!
Dear Lucas,
I cannot believe how quickly it’s going, how much you change everyday and how big your getting. You look very smart today in your mickey mouse romper with the fake tie. 10:17am 1 month ago, you came out, via the sunroof, and you were held over the screen, covered in blood and gunk. When mummy and daddy laid eyes on you for the first time and instantly fell in love. When we heard you cry for the first time the fears that we, the nurses and the doctors had of you being rushed to neonatal were over. You may have been premature, but from the moment you were created you were a fighter.  I remember when you were bought over and I kissed your head for the first time and the first thing I could bring myself to say was “is he really mine” I was so overwhelmed. I had spent my whole pregnancy fearing the worse, doctors being pessimistic until week 24 and now knew that was over. I am still proud to this day with the fact that my “funny shaped” uterus managed to grow a healthy little human and a beautiful one at that and now you are finally here and I will protect you everyday and love you forever.I remember being taken back to the labour ward from theatre and having you placed on my chest for the first time, you were 6lbs 5ozs of pure perfectness and thats when i realised how much I had wanted to be a mother and the fears I’d never have that were also over. You have changed so much since day one and I am loving everyday with you. Watching you grow up, cuddling you and staring at your beautiful face are my favourite things to do.Your current favourite thing to do is stare at colourful toys, cuddle and watch Baby tv (black and white sensory) on youtube. You do also like to drink lots of milk and sleep.I am so proud to be your mummy and always will be. I am excited to continue to watch you grow and get your own little personality and watch you experience and learn new things.
I love you now and alwaysMummy xxx
